José Eduardo, known as Edu, is a successful businessman who is going on vacation with his wife and son. The confusion begins when, by mistake, Zé stays at Edu's luxury hotel, which, in turn, ends up at Zé's simple inn. Lucas is helped by Teresa, a young Portuguese woman who works as a restorer of old Portuguese churches in the interior of Portugal. Lucas, assisted by Teresa, seeks to reconstruct the stories of his mother Alice, and ends up falling in love with Teresa.
